The summer keeps on moving!

Just finished another project at the new Katmai Wilderness Lodge at Kukak Bay, Kodiak. Thankfull to be part of a professional design/build team.

I think this is the first high voltage (430V DC) Sol-Ark battery installation in Alaska and is a serious commercial scale system. The new 80 and 30 kW gens will see limited use but are necessary for the shoulder seasons or winter operation.

3-phase 208 volt / 400 amp service off solar and batteries is frankly groundbreaking. 56.4 kW solar array and 320 kWh LFP battery. This system will power a small community for decades ahead.

Wrapping up at Hatcher Pass Lodge in Palmer, Alaska - this roof was serious fun on ladders and ropes in near constant rain.

We added 23 kW of solar, new 48v HomeGrid lithium batteries, Sol-Ark inverters, new distribution and a bunch of electrical upgrades. Reliabe, safe, lower cost power for 20+ years.

Great week out at Rainy Pass Lodge.

We tore out the old Outback system (common theme at lodges) and added 3x Sol-Ark 15Ks, 13.6 kW of solar on Tamarack ground mounts, and 1500 amp-hours of HomeGrid lithium. Quite an upgrade! Still working with ESI to get the gen controllers working correctly but fine tuning is always part of the process.

Our electrician also completly reworked the generator shed and distribution for safe and clean power for decades to come.

Great food and amazing accommodations!

Another solar and battery renovation complete! The Native Village of Napaimute is now 100% hybrid-solar. Sol-Ark and lithium batteries are just more powerful, reliable, and safer than the other options available. Both of their system are now remotely monitored in real time and can be controlled from a cell phone.

We stayed in the White House, the oldest habitable building on the Kuskokwim. Between rain showers we were able to check out their fish wheel, see the sudden return of swallows, and enjoy the quiet (after we got the gen off and solar on…).

Great trip, nice people, beautiful scenery. The middle Kuskokwim is a special place.

All done at Silver Salmon Creek and Homestead Lodges on the west side of Cook Inlet. We get to work in some amazing places for great people.

This project included Sol-Ark inverters, HomeGrid lithium battery banks, roof and pole mounted solar, a new 18 kW Northern Lights generator on auto, and lots of new electrical. Reliable and safe power for decades ahead.

The bears are also amazing but maybe a little close for me!

Piles are all set for a new project in Bethel at the Yuut Peoples’ Learning Center. We drove these through the ice and 38’ into the permafrost to support a new solar installation. We’ll circle back in July when the tundra is hopefully dried up to add 78.6 kW of solar, inverters, and lithium batteries. All 208v 3-phase commercial.

Moving 8,000 pounds of lithium up the mountain. I don’t think the video really captures the slopes involved. I’ve owned both Chevys and Fords so it’s not that kind of a video!

We installed a 460 kWh SuperCap battery with another starting tomorrow. This battery would power a house for a month and is rated for 20,000 cycles. Learning lots of new techniques working with T-Com and Tower guys that will continue to set us apart back home.

Can almost see the end of the Mojave Project and looking forward to being back in AK!
