Mobile groomers, let’s talk tank maintenance. 💦🚐

Your gray and fresh water tanks work hard every single day—and one of the easiest ways to maintain them is simply to use the water you’re already using.

For everyday maintenance, I like to keep both tanks filled to the top daily, or at least every other day. Why? A full tank allows water to reach every surface from top to bottom instead of letting areas sit dry and stagnant.

And that drive between clients? It’s actually helping. The natural left-to-right movement of the van creates a sloshing action inside the gray tank, helping move sediment and debris before you properly dump it in an approved sewer or wastewater disposal location.

The same principle applies to your fresh water tank: fill it, exercise the entire tank, use it, repeat.

Can these tanks be removed from the rear of your Hanvey unit for a deeper cleaning? Absolutely. But for everyday maintenance, this simple routine can go a long way toward keeping your system clean and functioning the way it should.
