Recently, members of the Knight Material Technologies team spent time volunteering at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, helping support families throughout our community.

Working together, our team packed 2,083 meals, creating a meaningful impact in just a few hours. We are proud to support organizations that work every day to fight hunger and strengthen the communities where we live and work. The experience also gave our team an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and make a difference beyond the workplace.

3 questions separate a lined vessel that lasts 20 years from one that fails at year 5

Bonded fluoropolymer linings isolate steel tanks and vessels from corrosive process chemistry — but the adhesive systems that make the bond work are proprietary. Every fabricator has spent years on its own formulation. There's no spec sheet to compare suppliers against.

That means choosing a lining system is largely a trust exercise. A reputable fabricator will welcome hard questions about that trust:

What adhesive are you using, and why (based on your actual temperature, chemistry, and whether the vessel moves)? What failure mode shows up in testing — is it the fabric backing tearing, or something weaker letting go first? And what's your verification process once the vessel is built, including what happens when a void or flaw is found?

The vessels that quietly pass inspection after inspection for 10-20 years are the ones where a fabricator could answer all three without flinching.

Since 1910, our work has been built by hand and by shift — brick by brick, weld by weld, sheet by sheet. That hasn't changed. In the last few years we've added a new kiln and an automated FLEXERAMIC® packing line at our East Canton, Ohio plant, and about 45 new jobs to go with them.

Thanks to the crews who build it, install it, and keep America's plants running.
