Hi Gang,
This is our last overall reminder. Polar Ball Next Saturday, as long as NO RAIN, otherwise, we have the Rain Date on the 31st.
So, I am re-posting the notes to everyone. IF you can help us out, please by all means drop by a bit earlier to the park and help us setup stuff. IF you can bring something, that'd be great to add to the "rock soup" table. We usually need everything from napkins, cups, paper plates, a spork or two, and or food stuffs or hot and or cold drinks, etc., etc., etc. you get the picture. IF you can, reach out to ME and Amy, who is usually the one also trying to coordinate some of these items. Lastly, PLEASE come prepared for any eventuality. It's gonna be COLD to frigid, so layer up from head to toe, as you can always take something off or on, but if you don't have it, that's NO BUENO! Between myself and Dennis we should have the typical gear support ( our Med Bag, Balls, lines, etc., ) so we should all be good on that front as usual. ALSO, we have learned, and ask everyone, IF possible, please bring along a heavy shovel should we need to do some snow and ice removal ( as we've done in the past ), other than that, my fingers are crossed that we should have some crazy and fun games out there.
Note too that IF any change in the weather which might prevent us from actually playing, I will post out by this coming Thursday and or Friday afternoon the latest. Otherwise, come one come all to our free open game Winter Polar-Ball game day.
So, I appreciate all of you that make this possible, and show the big big support to allow us all to play in a home made volleyball league. I am hoping for a good turn out once again, and that everyone who shows will have a good time having some fun, and kicking off the 2026 season. Let's hope that it finds you ALL in good health and spirit a nd to have the ability for a few good friends to go out and laugh. I think we all could use that about now. ;)

That's right my fellow SWV VBallers,
I Can't believe it, BUT, the day is coming close. So, I am hoping to start putting out the word to all of our group crazy enough to come on out and join in the Winter Polar-Ball Fun for the schedule date to play ( as well as our back up Rain Date ).
We hope again for another continued good turn out and good participation. For all and especially the Newbies to this thing .......
IF any takers to help out with set up and making sure the courts are good to play on we would appreciate it if you can make it on out by around 8:30 am. We will need help with the Hot Tent, Tables, and possibly the Courts to set up either cones or lines, and make sure that the courts themselves are at least somewhat playable.
We ask EVERYONE, if they can to also come down with things to add to our Pot Luck Table; Something Hot to Drink, Something Hot ( or other ) to eat to add to the group hot tent. It's always cool that those that have come bring great things to add to the fun of the day, and it's greatly appreciated!!!
We also ask that if you can, please contact ME ( you remember - Ol Sammy ) and or Staff Member Amy to let us know what you think you'd like to bring so we can at least make sure we don't have seventeen containers of coffee, but no cups. We will try to level off the list of stuff to try and avoid too much overlap.
We ALSO ask that ALL participants PLEASE try to bring a Snow Shovel of some kind, and a Metal Tipped Gardening tool.. Why you ask??? Well, just in case, we may need to break up frozen snow and or ice ( which has happened in the past ) and dig out a bit to get down back to the sand courts ( which WILL be like a frozen waste land on it's own. Just ask those who've come to the one's we've had in the past, and you'll understand.
Recommendations to everyone, especially those who are first time winter gamers - Please wear the proper clothing. Dress in multiple layers. You can always take off and or add something to adjust on how the weather goes through the day. Make sure you bring good type of gloves ( like a thinsulet ), Warm hat and scarf. AND decent footwear. I do NOT recommend bear feet - although I've seen it before crazy enough ) and something that is an ankle high protective footwear I suggest is the best. Sometimes the area gets icy, and so to try and avoid twisting and turning, it's good to be protected more than not. Bring a blanket for yourself and a folding chair, when you wanna sit and chill, even though we will have a Tent where we set up the food and drink tables, and will have a space heater, just in case you need to get warmed up again.
In short, be practicable and smart on your clothes and bag of stuff you need to have on hand to play safely an d enjoy the day and to avoid needless trips and falls, etc..
This day is opened play to everyone that wants to come down and join in. We
again are hoping for weather that will allow us play the day out, and as long as it does not RAIN we WILL be a go. Again, look for my further posts with updates and notes. Ii will be soon sending out the notice through our SWV Email contact list so look for the same notes there, and if for some reason you aren't getting my Emails, please contact me and let me know!!!!
