Current Composites is a third-generation manufacturing company, now employing three members of that third generation.
Back in 1962, the company was founded by Albert Prinz Sr, who had 7 children with his wife Edith.
Every single child of theirs, at some point in their lives, worked at Current.
They all started in the factory, making (or attempting to make) tubes, with some working all the way up to Senior Executive positions.
One of their children, Mark, was a creative and amazing artist. He often took scraps and drops of our material to make his own knife handles.
He left 16 boning blade blanks, unfinished, when he passed away in 2004.
20 years later, one of the third-generation workers, Brian Jr., found these blanks and decided to finish what Mark did not have time to.
With the help of TAJ Outdoors, we choose 4 of our favorite scale patterns and had all 16, shaped, epoxied together, pinned and finished.
To some people. these may just be 16 boning knives with some cool handles, but to us these are a tribute to Mark's legacy; and the Prinz family's enduring spirit at Current Composites.
These knives are more than tools; they're a piece of our history, crafted with love and respect for our past. They symbolize the creativity and craftmanship that have been the backbone of our company since 1962.
Each knife is a testament to our history, blending tradition with innovation, and keeping the family spirit alive in every creation.
When you purchase from us, you're supporting a longstanding family business, not just a faceless corporation. You become part of our extended family, where every product is crafted with a personal touch and a deep commitment to quality.
