Registration for our study has now ended!

Our current participants are still submitting observations for the next few weeks so follow us along and stay tuned as we finalize our findings and share valuable insights into ReGrowing Milkw**d for Monarchs!

Hi! Do you know what "data" is*?

What are data? Data are information gathered through observations that are presented as a set of values (aka numbers). These data can then be quantified (used in math equations) and allow us to describe what we observed in the real world.

When we apply statistical math to these data we can use our findings to make inferences (suggestions) about what we observed. For instance we hope to answer "did we find more or fewer monarch eggs in the regrown milkw**d?" by analyzing the data.

All that said, we hope you consider submitting your data with us. We are asking that you make observations for 4-5 weeks after mowing!

*Fun fact: "data" is a plural term and the singular is "datum".

Have a good monday!

In this video Nate is demonstrates how to follow the two-patch protocol for this experiment. You can use a w**d whip or string trimmer to mow the milkw**d in larger patches.

Hear Ye Hear Ye!

We are here to announce Round Two of ReGrow Milkw**d For Monarchs.

Have another patch of milkw**d that hasn't already been part of this study? Or, are you new here and haven't participated already?

If so, consider joining us in cutting back your milkw**d (as explained in the protocol) between now and July 20th!

Eggs that are laid in late summer produce the group of adult butterflies that make the trip back to Mexico so we’re especially interested to learn if regrowing milkw**d stems can give a boost to this group.

Register this new patch(es) under a new PIN and follow the same methods. Note: You don't have to "wait for milkw**d to start flowering" as it says in protocol because they should already be/have been flowering!

Important note: patches that were part of the June cut back should not be cut again in July.

Tell your friends :)
