🌴 Our Florida Story: Part 1
For nearly 20 years, our family vacationed along the Gulf Coast.
Every trip was the same. We'd spend a week soaking up the sunshine, enjoying the beaches, and making memories together. Then, as we packed up the car to head home, we'd look at each other and ask:
"What would it take to make this our home instead of our vacation destination?"
Year after year, that question followed us home.
Like many families, we had careers, kids in school, responsibilities, and all the reasons why making a move felt overwhelming. But the dream never went away.
Three years ago, we decided to stop saying "maybe someday" and start figuring out how to make it happen.
Today, we're living where we used to vacation.
What's especially meaningful is that I now meet families every week at Hidden Pines who are asking themselves that very same question. Some are dreaming about warmer weather. Others want a slower pace of life, to be closer to the water, or simply to start a new chapter.
Their stories remind me so much of our own.
Over the next few weeks, I'm going to share our family's journey—the things we loved, the things that surprised us, and what we learned along the way.
