If your work keeps your hands overhead all day, your recovery should too.
The first session in Coach Shannon's Built to Last conditioning series focuses on a challenge familiar to drywall finishers, ceiling installers, electricians, painters, and countless other trades: the wear and tear that repetitive overhead work places on the shoulders, chest, neck, and upper back.
This week's recovery routine includes:
✔️ Banded Pull-Aparts (upper back strength & flexibility)
✔️ Wall Angels (shoulder mobility)
✔️ Doorway Pec Stretch (chest and shoulder flexibility)
✔️ Thoracic Rotations (spinal mobility)
✔️ Chin Tucks (neck release)
Simple movements like these can help improve mobility, reduce stiffness, and counteract the repetitive motions that come with a career in construction.
Building a strong workforce means investing in the long-term health of the people doing the work. Recovery and conditioning aren't just for athletes - they're for anyone who wants a long, healthy, productive career in the trades.
🏗️ MZ Crew: To earn your Challenge Hound points, complete 10 reps of each exercise for 4 sets and log your activity as "CS Conditioning Session" in the app. Complete the session once a day for maximum points!
