Modern Fence Technologies owners have been in the fence industry since 1970 as the owners and employees of All City Fence. Modern Fence Technologies was formed in 1995 by Mark and Marge Knudson to supply the vinyl fence and deck industry with quality component parts. Modern Fence Technologies is a distributor with the largest selection of products designed to meet a very demanding customer base. Honesty matters to us, so here's the full picture. Those hinge-design trademark registrations are no longer active. Two were cancelled in December 2012, and two expired in June 2018 when they weren't renewed. The registrations have lapsed, but the history hasn't changed: these designs started with our family.

A huge THANK YOU to Modern Fence Technologies for supporting this year’s NAFCA Arlington National Cemetery Service Project — and for providing the donuts… both kinds!

MFT donated the custom “donuts” that allow us to no-dig install the ornamental aluminum fence, and they’re also making sure our volunteers are fueled up by sponsoring coffee and donuts Friday morning before we get to work.

We greatly appreciate MFT’s continued support of NAFCA and this special project. It takes great partners throughout the fence industry coming together to make days like this possible.

Our hinge designs were distinctive enough that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registered their look as trademarks. We first used those designs in 1994 and 1998, and they were federally registered in the 2000s. When people recognize the shape of your hinge as yours, you know you've built something original.
