Easton Utilities is a community-owned, not-for-profit utility and telecommunications company operating for the Town of Easton and portions of the surrounding area. Easton Utilities is responsible for the operation, management and maintenance of the electric, water, wastewater, natural gas, cable television and nternet utility services for the Town of Easton and portions of the surrounding area. In 1923, Easton became the first municipality in Maryland to own all of its utilities, an arrangement that is still unique today.

What is a Sun Outage?
In the spring and fall, for about a week, all television customers (not just Easton Velocity customers) may experience some degree of television interference, such as pixilation, picture freezes, or audio distortions as the sun passes behind a satellite that transmits television programming. Fall sun outages may begin on or around October 5 and go to about October 13.

How long does it last?
Sun outages may interfere with programming for a brief period (10-12 minutes).
