Our 2026 annual show dates are on the road sign for everyone to see that drives by. Mark your calendar now so you won't miss it. I think this is our 53rd show.

Crocker Wheeler 1-1/2 or 2 H.P. (I.D. plate is mis stamped) Direct Current motor, Bi-polar. I am running this on two 12 volt truck batteries wired in series which equals about 24 volts. Just runs a little slower than it would on 115 volts. And I do not need to use a starter, which it would have had originally. I weighed this in at 260 lbs.

I was at the showgrounds yesterday (Feb. 7-2026) working in the machine shop with a couple of the guys. (Dan & Paolo). We were surprised to see only about a half inch of ice on top of a half inch of snow, on the roads. Much less than the western shore. We still have 3 to 5 inches on the ground. Got this photo of ice slowly sliding off the roof of the kitchen. It was once soft enough to move but than cold enough to freeze in a curled position after leaving. A memory. It was frozen when I got this picture. The last photo was the road leaving the grounds.

Rustin Hornsby, 12-1/2 HP Electric Lighting Engine, spinning the 15,000 watt G.E. Edison Dynamo. I purchased the engine in restored condition. I have done some machine work since I have had it. I restored the Dynamo myself. This is my favorite engine & accessory combination. The engine originally came out of Sweden. The Dynamo was used someplace in southern New York state. I have not been able to confirm exactly where. I am running this today at our yearly Road Tractor show. A nice event that is becoming more popular every year.

Columbus 25 HP Cam stopper engine. Running very smooth today at our road tractor show 11-8-25, on propane. This is a hit & miss engine. When the flyball governor is satisfied, the mechanism it controls, stops the outer end of side shaft with the exhaust cam holding the exhaust valve open. It inhales & exhales through the exhaust system allowing the piston to freely move through the four cycles. When the engine slows, the governor catches this, reconnects the mechanism allowing the exhaust valve to close. Fuel is drawn in and it fires again. It goes through this process over and over to control engine speed. This engine originally powered a machine shop line shaft. Today it has an easier life being displayed to the public and run on occasion.

Foos 15 HP. This is a dual fuel, gas or gasoline engine. Running on gas in this video. This engine has tremendous compression. Takes quite a bit of energy for (2) people to turn over even with the compression release open. It runs nice though. A quiet engine. I restored this myself, over a two year period. I am working to install a swinging Sumter BS. We had this running at our road tractor show November 8th. 2025.

Fairbanks Morse 50 HP style YV, running at our Road Tractor show November 8th. 2025. This is a two cycle oil engine, we are running on diesel fuel. The starting tube on the outside of the combustion cap is heated for about 15 minutes to provide ignition to start. Their is an internal ignition tube used for running once the engine is warmed up. This engine came from Easton Power & light, so I am told. Interesting story how they got it delivered from Baltimore MD. before the bay Chesapeake Bay Bridge existed. Pay us a visit sometime to hear the story. We are here most Saturdays.

Domestic 15 HP running for the first time after some restoration work. This is at our Fall Harvest festival 11-1-2025. This engine belonged to Lehigh Valley RR. It was on a wood barge (Derrick Lighter) found sunk, pushed up on shore in a tributary off the Chesapeake near Crisfield MD. The barge #480, was the last one purchased by the RR from a dealer on the Hudson.

Fairbanks Morse 50 YV. Starting and running at the Fall Harvest Festival 11-1 & 2, 2025, Tuckahoe Steam & Gas engine association, Easton MD. This engine belonged to Easton Power & Light. Drove a generator to light the power house, I understand. We use compressed air to start.

Philadelphia Otto rated at 13 H.P.. When people first see this they think it is a 25 HP due to it's size. The flywheels are massive. This is an electric lighting engine. It came out of a school, so it has had an easy life as compared to most. Running at our Fall Harvest Festival November 1st. & 2nd. 2025.

Domestic 15 HP First run on Saturday Nov.1-2025 at our Fall Harvest Festival. This engine was on a wood barge that belonged to Lehigh Valley R.R. The barge & engine came from a N.Y. dealer on the Hudson. Had a problem with the spark saver & the Magneto initially, spark not reliable. After some minor inspection and adjustments we got it running. Runs and sounds pretty good. We had a good crowd at the show and the weather was great.
