The first annual Eden Fireman’s Association 2026 Soap Box Derby race was a huge success. Thanks to the fire department for putting the time in to make this event happen. It was a great turn out and the racers put on an exciting show! I’ll be looking forward to next years race in a couple days.

We went out this afternoon a little unsure with how our cart would perform but to our surprise it was competitive enough to make a clean sweep and win all three races.

Our cart was designed, fabricated and built in the shop, with some help from close friends we finished the project at 5am this morning and to the track by 11:45am. Justin was the straightest driver in the county and Scotty pushed like he has a pair and we got the job done.

Big thanks to everyone, this story wouldn’t be as cool without you. 🍺🍺

CNC plasma cutting - Plasma is created when a high-voltage electric arc ionizes compressed gas (usually air) flowing through the torch nozzle.
