For more than 30 years, Amy has turned her passion for the environment into action, helping South Jersey communities become more sustainable. A member of the Hammonton Green Committee and Environmental Commission, she also serves as co-chair of the Sustainable Jersey Atlantic-Cape May Regional Hub.

ACUA, the green team and city officials will be conducting a recycling audit in the downtown area Sept. 2, 16 & 30.

The last time students at CCHS conducted their audit on 3 recycling collection days, residents in the Neighborhoods at Cedar Creek decreased recycling contamination by 43% and there was a 100% increase in the number of cardboard boxes that were broken down.

The audit is designed to educate the public about proper recycling techniques. Look for "Great Job" or "Oops" tags on your bins.

We're seeing some improvement in drought conditions. That said, drought doesn't just consider rainfall, but also reservoir levels, stream flows and ground water. Heavy rainfall has been good for reservoirs, but so much runs off that ground water levels aren't influenced as much.
