Today we're enjoying a look back on the images of Redwood Day School, a building that won a 2008 Savings by Design AIA Energy Efficiency Integration Award due to specialized materials & methods. Using highly insulated specialized rigid panels for the walls and roof, the new middle school buildings were completed in six months. Twenty-two foot wide sectional glass doors turn the Multi-Purpose Building from a classroom into an outdoor theater with the push of a button.

In 2010, Kaufman Construction was proud to participate in the construction of Gaia House on Mills College Campus. This earth-friendly building houses the operations of Mills College's Botanic Gardens, which is where students participate in labs, attend lectures, and direct botanic projects of their own. The building was designed & constructed with a low-footprint mindset, including passive ventilation and filtered runoff, and taking advantage of as much natural light as possible to reduce reliance on electricity.

We love looking back on completed projects. Check out these pictures from Every Dog Has Its Day Care, Inc, completed in 2015. An original windowless brick building was expanded with modified greenhouses to create lots of play space for the dogs, and rows of colorful doggy dorm spaces for overnight guests were added inside. As you can see by the photos, the dogs appreciate the space!

This , we're enjoying the "after" pictures of Piedmont Commons, renovated in 2013. Originally built in 1959, Kaufman Construction was involved in seismic upgrades, modernizing the electrical throughout, and bringing the finishes back to life. We hope the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority is enjoying their home!
