Exigo was honored with two awards at AIA El Paso’s 2024 Design Awards! The Chamizal Community Center and Library, designed in collaboration with Marmon Mok Architecture , received an Honor Award and the SISD Technology Service Center received a Citation Award! Special thanks to the City of El Paso, Texas - Municipal Government and Socorro Isd for trusting our team with these incredible projects aimed at shaping the built environment in our beautiful city. We also extend our deep gratitude to Jordan Foster Construction and Noble General Contractors, our consultant partners, and the entire team at Exigo!

“The architecture represents both the culture of EPW and the culture of the city itself through a recognition of not only how water (both above and below ground) connects these cultures across the city grid, the Franklin Mountains, and the geography in general, but also how architecture can express that context. The final design represents the intersection of the Franklin Mountains and the city grid: a mass versus a grid, with a connecting bridge in the center that consists of both closed and open collaboration spaces.”

Thank you to Texas Society of Architects/AIA for highlighting the New El Paso Water Headquarters, the importance of flexibility and functionality , and how we can apply sustainable principles to a building’s design.

In honor of International Women's Day and Women's History Month, we celebrate the remarkable contributions of women in Architecture. Exigo is proud to be a woman-owned firm that uplifts and empowers women in our community and across the profession.

We have asked some of our team members to share their thoughts on leadership and advice to guide others looking to forge their own paths.

Nicole is an emerging professional working in the field of architecture. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture (BA Arch) in 2017 and subsequently her Master of Science in Architecture (MS Arch) in 2018 from the University of New Mexico. She focused her MS thesis on the architectural response to the humanitarian crisis at the US-Mexico border by designing opportunities for survival and preservation of human life.

Her ambitions are to further explore her interests in how other disciplines, such as film, politics, and philosophy, may shape architecture, as she believes there is a subtle, yet undeniable process of reciprocation that exists between these fields.

The new El Paso Water Administration Building crafts 67,000 SF of high-performance workspace centered around the health and well-being of its occupants. In collaboration with renowned firms and , the design embodies EPWater’s innovative spirit as a steward of sustainable development. The site will incorporate native and drought-tolerant landscaping designed by and implement stormwater strategies to demonstrate how to sustainably utilize and develop land in the Chihuahuan Desert region. The El Paso Water Administration Building will house most of the utility’s operational departments, including engineering, and its projected 290 full-time employees. The first phase of the project, a two-story parking structure, will begin construction in late January. Our design team is enthusiastic about contributing to shaping the present and evolving identity of EPWater.
