Attached is an oil sample report from a charter boat in the OBX. They have been a Schaeffer's Oil customer for almost 5 years now. When they first started using Schaeffer, they said they wouldn't go over 250 hours. 2 years in using oil samples, they got comfortable changing at 500 hours +/-. I was told, its an awesome feeling to know if I'm close to 500 hours and 2+ weeks of pretty weather, I can wait for a blow day. No more 11pm oil changes and back at the boat by 4AM.
I reached out to tech support in regards to the Severe warning on the report. They informed me that:
Acid number and base number are inverse. As acid number increases, base number decreases. Acids develop as a byproduct of combustion in diesels. It’s normal. Advise customer to change the oil, if they havent.
So how does Schaeffer save you money? Using free oil sample kits, we can extend drain intervals. Reducing the volume of oil needed to purchase in a season, reducing number of filters needed, reducing time spent in the engine room. We can do the same with drive transmissions, and have a full line of fuel additives to protect your biggest expense- fuel. Speaking of fuel, did I mention that switching to Schaeffer, National avg is 3-5% fuel reduction. That could be rough $75 per trip with current fuel prices.

Want to clarify some things on team registration stuff, since we have been asked.
Team of anglers: if the same group of 4-6 anglers wish to fish 2 or more dates across multiple dates, let us know at in person registration which boats and dates they plan to fish with who. Example: Day 1 will be with ABC Sportfishing, day 3&4 will be with XYZ Charters. The group will then have choice of which boat/ capt they wish to share Capt bucket with and represent in pictures/ registration. They will be designated by their determined team name.
Charter/ private boats: with same Capt/ mate, they can register under the boat name as a team, and have different anglers each day. Still limited to a max of 3 weigh ins. This allows Charter captains the ability to participate in the tournament, while not having to worry bout their fishing party buying in. Must designated that there is no assigned anglers to team, just Capt/ mate.
All weigh ins will be at Shallowbag Bay Marina. Can transport fish by boat or truck.
