Welcome to the first of several major 2025 remodels! This was a big deal. It was basically a complete home makeover complete with a brand new Kitchen, a new Hall Bath, a new Master Bath, new flooring throughout and the entire interior painted; walls, doors and trim.

Kitchen: We kept the same basic layout. Highlights are: Removed the soffits, upgraded with all new modern cabinetry including 42" to the ceiling upper cabinets, quartz counter tops, expanded the counter space, tiled the backsplash, upgraded the pantry, relocated all lighting and lastly new LVP glue down flooring and paint.

Hall Bath: Replaced the construction grade fiberglass shower surround with a new tub and tiled shower, new vanity, quartz countertop, new toilet, new medicine cabinet, LVP glue down flooring, lighting and paint. Replaced the cumbersome pocket door with a traditional hinged door.

Master Bath: Replaced the 4x4 tiled construction grade walk-in shower with a new modern tiled shower complete with a bench and pebbled floor, new vanity, quartz countertop, new toilet, LVP glue down flooring, lighting and paint. Replaced the cumbersome pocket door with a traditional hinged door.

Welcome to my latest project! This was at Barnes Chiropractic which has seen several not so major remodels over the years since I did the original build-out 10 years ago. This one was a big deal...
The biggest issue I had to deal with was how to do a major remodel without shutting down or disrupting the daily business? Lots of after hours and weekend work, that's how!

The project seemed simple enough; Just convert a narrow, dark, unused strip of space into an expansion of the clinic. There was no power, no lighting, it was only 80" wide. Not wide enough to accommodate treatment rooms and a hallway. No flooring, no insulation or drywall. The ceiling was left in shambles and it was full of 'stuff' left from the previous tenant.

The process was to build a new wall in the office to provide a wide enough hallway, then start removing the old wall behind the new wall. I was able to complete most of the new treatment rooms before cutting walls into the clinic! Everything was then painted and trimmed out to match the rest of the clinic; the ceiling was refurbished using most of the old grid system.

Here's another fall 2024 bathroom remodel! The homeowners asked for a new walk in tile shower, flooring and all 'round updates. Since they really like the master bath I remodeled for them a few years back they went with many of the same colors and styles.
A full walk-in shower replaced the 'original to the house' fiberglass tub and surround. 4x12" Wave subway tiles were used throughout. Complete with a recessed niche, a grab bar and a high quality sliding glass shower door. A fresh coat of paint on the ceiling, walls and door brought the bath back to like new condition. Vinyl plank flooring and new trim modernized the floor. The vanity was painted along with new chrome hardware. Lastly, a new light fixture, mirror and towel bars completed the remodel. The watercolor painting was re-hung in it's original position.

Thanks for looking at my latest project! This was a bathroom update with a new tile shower, a large soaking tub, along with new paint, flooring and a mirror. The new vinyl plank flooring extended into the adjacent bar room. After demo'ing the standard builders grade tub & shower surround, a new 21" deep soaking tub was installed. The shower surround is a customer selected larger 4x12 subway style tiles. A 12"x12" convenience niche was built into the end wall. The project was completed by cleaning up a few things from the wall opposite the sink, repaired some existing ceiling damage and gave everything fresh new paint!

This was a pretty cool project! My latest job in Granger IN was a stairway upgrade. The homeowners were tired of the original typical builders stairway that was original to the house. And the carpet on the steps had to go! So after tossing around many plans we came up this; I removed the carpet, fake step ends and the turned balusters. I cut off the ball post cap and replaced with two square post caps. New oak treads were stained and installed along with new painted stairbacks. The original railings and posts were painted black and remained in place. New 2x2 square pine balusters were painted white. Lastly, the entry floor was cleaned up, stained and polyurethaned. A new modern chandelier completed the new entryway!

I'm proud to showoff this summer 2024 deck built in Niles MI! The homeowners had a nice but outdated and worn out deck that needed replaced, and upgraded. A second stairway was also un-needed. After a complete demo and a slightly larger re-frame, new TimberTech Reclaimed Wood 'Chestnut' decking from the Composite Reserve Collection was installed with no visible fasteners. The railing is the Westbury VertiCable system with 'Bronze Fine Texture' posts and railings. Glass panels across the front were chosen for the view it provides. Lastly, all exposed frame work was covered with 3/4" white PVC trim.

Here's my first project from 2024, A complete kitchen makeover in Osceola. We stayed with the same basic plan while modifying a few areas, removing the L cabinet layout, and then painting all of the original cabinets in a homeowner selected color scheme and upgrading the hardware. All new Quartz countertops were supplied by The Granite Shop. 3x6" white subway tiles complete the countertops. The kitchen lighting was upgraded to 6" canless recessed lights. 900 sq ft of vinyl plank flooring was installed throughout most of the main level. Enjoy the 'Before and after from the same view' pics below!

Now for something totally different. This is a spring 2024 laundry room/entry makeover. It was nice but typical builders grade. The homeowners had some ideas so along with their inspiration photos and my ideas, we came up with a real nice plan! Wainscot with hooks on the long wall, a drop zone just inside the door, open shelving replaced the cabinets and a custom 'Doggie' shower replaced the laundry sink. Lastly, the dark green walls were painted a lighter beige to give it a much brighter look. The laundry closet was also refurbished with custom built shelving to make it more efficient as did the kitchen pantry which got 12 stainless steel rollouts to make accessibility much easier.

Here's a much simpler project for a change. The Middlebury homeowners asked for an entry door into their utility garage. It had been accessible only thru two overhead doors. She also asked that it match their existing entry doors. So with a little interior framing and perfectly color matched paint, the door looks like it had always been there! This is Phase I of a home fitness center conversion.

Here's a 2021 Elkhart deck. The original was a poorly supported 20'x15' deck that was at about the end of it's time. After a complete demo, I built a 20x16' properly framed and supported deck complete with a Pergola type covering. The Pergola, grilling deck and shed deck were added by the homeowners after construction had begun. It took a bit of engineering on the fly to accommodate the the requests and it all worked out well! Duralife 'Brazilian Cherry' composite decking was used along with the Stepclip hidden fastener attachment system. 20' deck boards were used to provide a clean 'no stagger seam' look. I was able to use the original white PVC railings in the new plan. Sadly, I can't believe I didn't take any before photos. Here's a couple of homeowner supplied pics along with my final photos.
