🏁 Racer Spotlight: #777 Grant Whitaker🏁

Meet Grant Whitaker from Hugo, Minnesota, racing in the Pro Stock and Pro Open classes.

Grant's Watercross journey started with a simple goal—skip a snowmobile across the water for fun. When he asked longtime friend David Fischer to build him a turnkey sled, David had one condition: "Okay, but you have to race." Seven years later, Grant is still hooked.

This season, his goal is to win a Pro class race weekend, and he's chasing that elusive first World Championship after earning an impressive 2nd-place finish in Pro Stock in 2022.

One race moment he'll never forget is taking his first checkered flag lap during his rookie season in Lake Linden. After putting in countless hours of work, standing on top of the podium made it all worthwhile.

For Grant, Watercross weekends are about more than racing. He loves unplugging from the outside world and spending time with the racers, families, and IWA staff who have become part of the Watercross family. He also says fans don't always realize how much of the sport is mental—it's just as important as speed.

When it comes to the World Championship, Grant loves the excitement that surrounds Grantsburg and the incredible atmosphere created by the fans lining the shoreline.

🏁 Racer Spotlight: #218 Erika Whitaker🏁

Meet Erika Whitaker from Hugo, Minnesota, racing in the Semi Pro Stock class. Erika has been competing in Watercross for six years after getting into the sport with encouragement from her husband.

Her biggest goal this season is to make the final, and one of her favorite racing memories is earning 3rd place in the Women's Class at Grantsburg in her very first season back in 2020.

What Erika loves most about Watercross weekends? Spending time with the Watercross family (and Collin Valento's grilling 🍔). She also wants fans to know that racing doesn't end when the checkered flag drops—weekends all year long are spent practicing and maintaining a sled.

Grantsburg holds a special place for Erika because of the incredible fans and the energy they bring every year.

Erika wants to give a huge thank you to Snowmax Performance, C&A Pro, Moonlite Custom Fab & Machine, EK Powders, Bikeman Performance, South Simcoe Machine, 3Sixty5 Designs, Engine Ice, and everyone who supports her racing journey.

And the award for weirdest thing packed on a race weekend? 🤣 It's a tie between her daughter and a mini washing machine.

🏁 Racer Spotlight: #750 Adam Dreher 🏁

It all started by watching his friends on the Sh*tti Skippers team. Two seasons later, Adam Dreher is out chasing his own success in the Sports Open class.

The Hugo, Minnesota racer has one goal this year: 🏁 Make a final.

When he's not on the water, Adam is immersed in the racing world, supplying fuel to racers across multiple motorsports through Metro Performance Fuels >> Visit their booth near the Winner's Circle!>>. And if there's any free time left, you'll find him with family up north—or on a snowmobile.

For Adam, the best part of Watercross isn't just the racing. It's the IWA community.
"The racers, staff, pit crews, and families involved are second to none. The atmosphere is something my family and I look forward to every race weekend."

He also says fans don't always realize how much skill goes into the sport. "It's not as easy as it looks. There is a lot of skill and technique involved in racing on the water."

When it comes to the World Championship in Grantsburg, Adam loves that the weekend truly has something for everyone—from exciting racing and vendors to great nightlife and a fun atmosphere all weekend long.
