At the Sutherlin Throwdown, we’re proud to celebrate the people who build, fix, create, and keep our communities running through the Made for Trades Scholarship Program.

Come watch local students put their skills to work, meet industry professionals, and see firsthand why the trades are such an important part of Douglas County’s future.

The team placed second in the Oregon State FIRST Tech Challenge and earned a trip to their first world tournament in Houston, Texas, this April. We love seeing local students dream big, work hard, and represent our community. Read more about their story in the July issue of Ruralite magazine.

🚨 OFF SEASON UPDATE 🤖💙

The team is officially back home, settled in, and already preparing for the upcoming season! After an unforgettable experience competing at the FIRST World Championship in Houston, we’re more motivated than ever to come back stronger for next year. 🔥

That being said — Worlds was an incredible opportunity, but it also came with major travel, meal, lodging, and competition expenses. As we head into the off season and prepare for upcoming registration fees, parts, tools, and build season costs, we’re working hard to replenish team funds and we need your help. ❤️

​The FIRST Championship mission is officially complete! A massive salute to all the incredible teams who brought their A-game and made it a season to remember. The Force is truly strong with this community.

​But the journey doesn't end here... The future is upon us! Get ready to branch out and reach new heights because we are thrilled to introduce the upcoming FIRST CANOPY season!
