JCJC Precision Manufacturing and Machining Technology We are in the business of equipping students with the knowledge and skills to become NIMS certified machinists.

The Precision Machining Technology program at Jones County Junior College offers detailed instructions on how to be a successful machinist in all levels of the machining field. The course requires no experience and will provide you with all the latest tools and equipment to learn this highly respected skill. It is a 4 semester program that will get you ready to make top dollar in any machine shop.

1st and 2nd semesters will teach you operations of a manual Lathe and Milling Machine, 3rd and 4th will teach you set up, operations, and programming of some of the most advanced CNC equipment out today. So make a change in your life and learn a great skill that will lead to a proud and successful career.

A cannon the first year students built with the guidance of their instructor. We machined the barrel, constructed the wood frame, built the wheels from scratch and wrapped them in leather. Excellent work by the team to help give the industrial service building some cool decor. If you are ever on campus stop by and ask us how we did everything. We also proudly put the logo on the side!!

Today we had Austin Mullins a graduate of the program come to represent his employer. HSI Corporation located in Baysprings MS. We have had a great relationship with HSI throughout the years and have had multiple students employed there. He did a fantastic job showing the guys some of their processes and equipment. HSI is a manufacturer of some of the largest hydraulics in America. 🇺🇸🇺🇸. We are proud to have graduates out in industry making a difference 💪.

A local company asked that we use our knowledge and equipment to design and make what basically is a 89 deg V Block. We were excited to help them out and show our capabilities. James Walters one of our 3rd semester students designed the part using and machined it from 4 X 4 square stock in our VF-4 mill. From the mill he was able to finish grind all parallel faces to perfect square.
