When you receive a piece of steel tube that isn’t straight, don’t panic, just straighten it. Oxy/fuel targeted heat and quenching goes a long way! Heat the convex side, quench it, it shrinks and becomes straight. There aren’t calculations.. no formula or ai.. just eyeball it, straight-edge it, and make it work!!

Simple bends = Simple process! Don’t get rid of your cheap 20T press with the SWAG kit.. there are tons of uses for it! Setting up a bend program is fun and all.. but what’s more fun, is doing stuff the manual way. It keeps your mind on theory. Be able to make a bend when the power is out if you have to!

What is a welder in your mind? Is it the big truck with spools and giant wheels and a skid? Sitting in the shop, welding in a clean environment and making parts.. yeah that makes money. But every now and then you have to go lay in the dirt and just do a simple repair to remind the world that you’re there to serve. The one true constant about machines.. they break!! I wouldn’t trade that fact for any other comfort in business!

🔥 Heat. Quench. Straight.
When steel bends the wrong way, don’t fight it with force—outsmart it with thermodynamics.
Torch the convex side of the bend until it’s cherry red. Then quench. The outer fibers shrink hard, the metal pulls itself straight. No press. No hammer. Just heat, water, and physics doing the heavy lifting.

POV: You’re my helper in the shop today. This accessory storage for an aluminum river boat has an orbital and blasted finish to diffuse sunlight. If you know about aluminum boats on the water, you know reflections will fry you. We can’t eliminate reflections but we can at least minimize them.

Incorporated a fiber laser and suddenly, it all changed.
What it actually does is turn “that’s gonna be a pain” into “yeah, we can do that.”
Perfect shapes every time.
Holes already in the right spot. Cut out from scraps in the pile.
Complicated parts that used to eat half a day now take minutes.
It’s not a magic money printer no, but almost!
It’s just the difference between fighting the metal… and making the metal do what you want.
That’s when the work starts paying better
