Loaded up and ready for work! 🛠️ Using the Cat skid steer with a truss boom and 24-inch auger today. It’s the perfect setup for setting posts and getting trusses in the air on our smaller builds. For the bigger projects, we still call in the heavy lifting power of Cali the SkyTrak, but this one is just right for the task at hand. Give us a call and let’s get to work!

Stop guessing on your stair layout! 🛑

Since framing lumber has those rounded edges, your gauges can sometimes slip or feel "off." I make a quick pencil mark at the intersection of every step. It takes two seconds and guarantees your stringer stays dead-on from top to bottom. ✍️

Cutting metal isn't just about getting through the sheet—it’s about keeping the profile. 🏗️

If you start at the wrong angle, the metal flares up and loses its shape. We switch to snips for the start to keep things clean.

Using "greens" (left-hand snips) allows us to roll the metal down, keeping the shape exactly how it’s supposed to be. 📐✨

Marking a straight line across metal roofing ribs is a pain—it’s easy to get ""lost"" in the valleys. 🏗️

The Pro Tip: Use a carpenter's pencil. Because it’s flat and square, you can hold it flush against your level or a straight 2x4.

By sliding the flat pencil along the level, you get a clean, straight line all the way through the high ribs and the valleys without eyeballing it. ✏️✨

Getting concrete perfectly flat around a toilet fl**ge is harder than it looks. 📐

If there’s a "hump" around the pipe, the plumber has to grind the concrete down just to get the toilet to sit level. It’s extra work and a messy fix. 🛠️

We took our time today to make sure this floor is flush and ready for the next trade. No grinding needed!

The home stretch of a build is all about the details. We’ve got the soffit finished and the loft stairs set in place. Sometimes the timeline depends on small things. like waiting for extra long screws for the metal siding but the inside is wrapping up. rails go in tomorrow.
