One of the biggest mistakes with butyl tape? Stretching it during install. ⚠️

When butyl tape gets stretched, it thins out — and that can compromise the seal before the job is even finished.

Bonus pro tip 👇
Snap a chalk line before installing flashing so everything stays straight and consistent across the building. Small prep work = cleaner finished results.

When installing fish flashing transitions and repairs, don’t rely only on the factory adhesive from closure foam. Over time, that stickiness can fail and leave gaps vulnerable to water intrusion.

Here’s the method that creates a stronger, longer-lasting seal:
✔️ Lay a base layer of butyl tape
✔️ Set the closure foam on top
✔️ Add a second layer of butyl tape over the foam
✔️ Seal the corners for extra protection against wind-driven rain

That layered approach helps create a tighter waterproof seal and adds durability where it matters most.

Good installs are all about the small details most people skip. 👌

We recently wrapped up a project at a local church that had been dealing with persistent water issues. The culprit? A set of problematic windows that were originally built right into the structure's framing. Because of how they were integrated, removing them wasn't exactly the "slam dunk" we initially expected.

Our crew had to work carefully to get them safely on the ground. Once there, we laid them on plastic to break the glass and cut the frames down into manageable pieces for disposal. It was a quick, effective fix that completely transformed the space and protected the facility from future damage.

When we take on a project, it’s more than just putting up a structure. It’s knowing we are a building a future for a family or even building something they have been dreaming about their whole life.

We don’t take it lightly, if you’re looking for a building contractor who has integrity, and the skill set to ensure it’s done properly give us a call the links in the bio

Ordering pitch-change flashing made simple 👇

Measure both roof sections with a speed square:
Lower pitch = 2:12
Upper pitch ≈ 10:12

Tell your supplier: “2:12 to 10:12 pitch change flashing” and they’ll fabricate the correct angle.

Same pitch info is used for:
• Ridge cap (pre-bent)
• Gutter/eave flashing

Cutting corners usually leads to fixing them later. 📉 We found some major "pillowing" on this roof because the metal sheets were forced into place years ago.

Instead of a full re-roof, we’re helping our customer stay on budget by replacing the flashing, extending it to 8 inches for better coverage, and sealing up those missed corners. Doing it right the first time is always better, but we're here to make it right now. 🏗️💪

Avoiding water damage starts with the right technique. 🛠️📐

When we install these mushroom-style smart vents, we're careful to avoid creating a ""dam"" that traps water. By positioning the vent right in the middle of the sheet's rib, we ensure that water hits the vent and flows naturally around it.

Don't let your roof "cook" from the inside out. 🥵 Without proper venting, metal buildings can trap heat and moisture, leading to major condensation issues. We’re using these mushroom-style smart vents today to give this roof the airflow it needs. They’re simple to install on metal and get the job done right.

Loaded up and ready for work! 🛠️ Using the Cat skid steer with a truss boom and 24-inch auger today. It’s the perfect setup for setting posts and getting trusses in the air on our smaller builds. For the bigger projects, we still call in the heavy lifting power of Cali the SkyTrak, but this one is just right for the task at hand. Give us a call and let’s get to work!

Repeat customers are always the best. Some of them we are honored to come back to do more work for time and time again, whether it’s a big project or a small one. Today, we repaired this deck by removing the rotten post. Eliminate the problem and get it back to shape.
