Michael Heyborne, our Metrology Manager, is one of the key minds working behind the scenes. Michael is the driving force ensuring our parts meet the highest quality standards. Using advanced measurement technology such as smart scopes and CMM equipment, he carefully analyzes and approves parts for production. His precision, technical knowledge, and attention to detail play a critical role in maintaining the excellence our customers expect.
Our second Employee of the Year is Paola Nye, our HR & Payroll Specialist. Finding the right balance between employee needs and company goals is no easy task, yet Paola consistently exceeds expectations in doing both. She approaches her role with fairness, integrity, and professionalism, always striving to support employees while protecting the best interests of the company. Her honesty, empathy, and commitment make her an invaluable part of the Caroba Plastics team.
We are grateful for Michael and Paola’s outstanding contributions and are proud to recognize them as our 2025 Employees of the Year.

We are thrilled to honor Jose, our exceptional overnight supervisor, who marks an incredible 10 years with the Caroba team. Since joining us with a background in roofing and construction, Jose has embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, proving himself to be an indispensable part of our family.
His reliability and versatility shine through in everything he does. From covering vacations for fellow supervisors to assisting molders with machine startups and tackling special projects, he approaches every task with a can-do attitude.
Jose’s leadership creates a supportive and positive environment. His team admires him for being fair, respectful, patient, kind, and thoughtful—qualities that strengthen the bonds of a cohesive team. His dedication has not gone unnoticed, and we’re truly grateful for the trust and dependability he brings every day.
When asked what keeps him at Caroba, he shared his love for the variety and challenges of the job, the trust the company places in him, and the pride he takes in supporting his team. He also values the flexibility of his schedule, which allows him to spend quality time with his kids and maintain his daily routine.
Outside of work, Jose enjoys tackling home projects and relaxing with a good movie or TV show.

Congratulations, Megan, on your 10-year anniversary!

Megan began her journey at Caroba as a part-time machine operator, despite having no prior experience in the manufacturing industry. Her background was primarily in the food industry, which differs significantly from manufacturing; however, she quickly fell in love with her work.

Initially, Megan worked the weekend shift, but after approximately two years, she transitioned to the second shift, which operates in the afternoon. With five years of production experience, Megan has demonstrated exceptional skills in following instructions, maintaining attention to detail, and showcasing a strong work ethic. These qualities earned her the title of Employee of the Year for 2022.

Megan's attributes make her an excellent candidate for the cleanroom. A cleanroom is a controlled environment designed to minimize contamination, particularly from airborne particles. Inside the cleanroom, we assemble, clean, and package products for our medical customers to ensure the highest quality possible. As a Cleanroom Operator, one must be extremely attentive to identify any defects in the parts, fulfill orders in a timely manner, and work collaboratively as communication is key between the lead and the operators.

When we asked Megan why she has stayed with us for 10 years, she expressed her love for her job and her pride in what we do as a company. In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with her family and being around her niece and nephews.

Congratulations on reaching the 10-year mark, Abel!

In 2000, Abel was living in Texas and had just started his first job as a Process Technician. He had completed several courses in Master Molder 1 & 2, Precision Machining, and the RJG Systematic Molding program, which helped him secure his position as a Process Technician despite having no prior experience. After seven years, he moved to Colorado Springs, where he worked for eight years. With 15 years of experience and training, Abel has become a highly knowledgeable Process Technician, crediting his professional growth to his faith in God. While living in Colorado Springs, he also developed a passion for the outdoors and spends much of his free time enjoying the beautiful scenery.

When he was ready to return to Texas and had packed all his belongings, Abel received a job offer from Caroba. At that point, he faced a significant decision: Should he go back to Texas or stay in Colorado? Guided by his strong faith in God, Abel chose to accept the job offer and remain in Colorado, a decision that he believes changed his life. In the field of injection molding, there are several roles and titles. At Caroba, we refer to our technicians as Molders, who are responsible for tool setup and machine processing. Molders play a crucial role in the company; they are the ones who make everything possible and bring the parts to life! One of the statements in our Quality Policy is "Good Quality Parts," which we could not achieve without our skilled molders. We are very fortunate to have Abel as part of the Caroba team.

When we asked him what has kept him at Caroba for 10 years, he simply replied, "Barry." He feels that Barry genuinely listens to him and takes his input seriously. Abel appreciates Barry's open-door policy, which extends not only to him but to all employees. Although his work is not always easy, he values the trust that the company has placed in him.
