Bye Aerospace is certifying and will produce the 2 & 4-seat all-electric “eFlyer" family of aircraft, applying innovative zero CO2 electric propulsion system, with a remarkable 1/5th the operating expense compared to legacy airplanes - a great benefit! The solar electric Sun Flyer aircraft takes a much bigger step, giving the aircraft a significant edge to lead the training and recreational market
segment:
- Distinctive and capable; demonstration prototype took flight July 15, 2014
- Rapid product development and distribution strategies
- Innovative solar and motor electric technology
We have leading industry executives, engineers, technology partners (PC Aero), with licensed exclusivity. In addition to having smooth, low drag lines, being aesthetically appealing and very technically advanced, the Sun Flyer aircraft will also answer the shortcomings sometimes listed by concerned pilot-owners:
- Robust and Rugged
- Reliability
- Maintainability (including access to spare parts)
- Utility
We are working closely with Redbird Flight Simulations and Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology along with additional industry advisors. We believe the ideal trainer aircraft should consist of the following:
- Low operating cost
- Be easy to fly for new student pilots and have absolutely benign stall
characteristics with no surprises
- Be easy to operate (access doors, inspections, simple checklists, readable
instruments)
- Multiple sorties daily in hot and cold climates
- Comfortable, adjustable, safe seating, good ventilation and heating, excellent
visibility, entry and exit ease, including access for less mobile pilots
- Ballistic parachute safety system (optional)
- Must have a durable finish for outside storage in all climates
- Very rugged tricycle landing gear and outstanding brakes
- Long operating life
