As an HVAC business owner, I take a lot of pride in doing things the right way. So hearing that an elderly couple was charged $13,000 for a standard water heater replacement honestly makes my stomach turn.

There is a difference between running a profitable company and taking advantage of people, especially seniors. A basic tank-style water heater replacement should not cost anywhere near that number under normal circumstances.

Through my company, Elevation Heating & Air, a standard water heater replacement typically falls between $2,500 and $3,500 depending on venting, code upgrades, and materials. That is transparent, fair pricing for quality work done correctly and up to code. We explain the work, we show the options, and we stand behind what we install.

When companies use high-pressure tactics, inflated pricing, or fear-based selling, it hurts everyone in this industry who is trying to operate with integrity. It makes customers skeptical. It makes them afraid to call for help. And it damages the trust that should exist between a contractor and a homeowner.

We are invited into people’s homes. We work around their families, their parents, their grandparents. That responsibility should mean something.

There is no justification for exploiting someone’s vulnerability for profit. None.

We have a duty as contractors to educate, to offer honest options, and to price our services fairly. If we do not protect our communities, who will?

Disgusted does not even begin to cover how I feel about it.

Hey everyone! 👋 Just a quick update — if you got a friend request from Goat Ridge HVAC, that was me! 🐐❄️🔥

As much as we loved the name Elevation Heating, we quickly learned that there are a lot of Elevations out there — from banks and churches to several other heating companies in Colorado. To cut down on the confusion and make sure we stand out, we decided it was time for a fresh start.

That’s where Goat Ridge HVAC comes in. The new name is bold, memorable, and unique — just like the service we strive to give every customer. We’re still the same team, offering the same quality work, with the same commitment to keeping your homes comfortable year-round… we just have a new name to carry us into the future.

Thank you all so much for your support as we take this next step forward. We’re excited for what’s ahead and proud to serve you as Goat Ridge HVAC! 💪🐐

We are making changes at Elevation to serve you better!

At the Colorado Fall Home Show we plan to roll out our new logo, but we wanted you to know first! We hope to see you there!

Meet our new mascot "Howard, the Mountain GOAT." He is named after Howard Severson, our founder's grandfather, who was a Colorado resident, an HVAC technician and the Greatest Of All Time.

Quinton Severson, our President and the Founder of Elevation, entered the HVAC trade to carry on the tradition of service excellence his grandfather established more than 50 years ago. Now with an expanded team, Elevation continues to serve commercial and residential customers in the Denver metro.

In other news, Stephen Boane has joined Elevation as our CEO. Steve has built other skilled trades companies based on the idea of "principles in all we do." He brings real enthusiasm for our customers and for our people who build and fix things.

Thank you for your support of Elevation! We look forward to serving you for years to come!

What is the maintenance schedule for HVAC system?
Your home heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system requires routine maintenance about twice a year—once in the fall for the furnace, and once in the spring for the air conditioner.

Why is it important?

Because, keeping up with scheduled maintenance not only extends longevity and ensures that your unit is running at its top performance, it lowers heating and cooling costs. Also, if your unit is new, most warranties require proof of proper maintenance to keep the warranty from going void.
