Nice little dryer clog right at the end of the pipe. Found the culprit at the roof exit port… mesh screen with a year of blocked lint stuck to it. Dryer breathes great now.

Useful tip: If you notice longer than usual drying times or clothes that are still damp after a full cycle, your dryer vent may be partially or fully blocked.
If you have access to the back of the dryer, there’s a way you can check pretty easily. Just remove the hose from the wall and use your phone camera set to ‘Video’ with the flash ‘On’, to look up into the vent. If it looks like this picture, then don’t hesitate to get it checked out.

Mesh screen and German Shepherds… bad combination

Sometimes you find more than just dust in ducts. A Gatorade bottle laying 8 feet inside a duct or a 15 year old Budweiser bottle inside an intake duct are probably still the weirdest of my finds.

Winter is coming.
Heaters are firing up.

And with that comes the burnt dust smell. Don’t be alarmed, that is normal as the heat exchanger is just burning off settled dust.
