Been a little while since I posted anything. Weather has finally been halfway decent and I have been working on the anvil stand when I have time. My Sawzall is a little older and the blade wasn't all that new either so the cuts are a little... Uneven... But nothing a little power sanding can't fix! Got the thing bolted together now though.

Little this and that going on while it's not too cold out. Took the ugly blue paint off of my cheapy anvil. It supposedly was to prevent rust but honestly it just looked tacky and I finally had enough of it.

Started prepping bits and bobs for my planned new (better) anvil stand. Made a couple 8-1/2" brackets out of some 1/4"x1-1/2" steel to go with some 6" lag bolts to hold the anvil down. The 3/8' threaded rod and bolts and washers will hold some 6x6's together once it's done. Got a 3/8' wide, 12' long spade bit to put them into the wood in one pass. Liquid nails to hold it all together on the inside.

Whole plan is based on the setup presented by Christ Centered Ironworks on YouTube. Funny enough, he started talking about the Acciaio anvils almost a year after I had purchased mine online. I can agree with him that it's been absolutely worth the money. However, my anvil stand has been a slap together job for a good amount of time now and I felt that I needed to improve that.

Last things I need is to buy and cut up the 6x6 for the stand itself and start assembling. That's going to be another day, all depends on how the weather holds. My garage doesn't have heat, nor electricity, and that can make some things tough.

Project is 90% finished. Functional at this point. Just need to take the time to finish the rivets in place of the bolts. Looking good though.

Rainy days are great for smithing... If your forge is inside! Which mine is, so that's good.

Spent a few hours today working on filling orders from the sale at YAAS Mercantile. I learned that I sold nails for too cheap... They aren't as easy as I thought!
