The Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky celebrates the legacy of H. Gordon Martin, a prominent real estate developer, and founding member of the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky in 1955, and past BIA president in 1957.

Gordon established his own construction company and specialized in affordable housing, including homes for returning World War II veterans. As the region’s homebuilding industry expanded, he joined fellow contractors to create an association that would represent builders, promote industry standards, and advance their shared interests.

Gordon was honored posthumously last week at the 8th Annual NKY Business Hall of Fame, with his son Doug Martin, proudly accepting the award on his behalf. Seventy-one years later, we are honored to continue Gordon’s mission and carry forward the vision and legacy of Gordon and the builders he partnered with to found our association.
