Let’s hear a bit of real tiny home info from an expert:

ADU or tiny home on wheels? What’s the difference? 👀

We get this question all the time, so let’s break it down.

An ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) is generally a permanent home on your property. Think backyard cottage, guest house, or additional living space. ADUs have to follow local zoning and building requirements, and the rules can vary quite a bit depending on where you live.

A tiny home on wheels (THOW) is built on a trailer chassis, which means it’s designed to be movable. That can give you more flexibility, but it also comes with its own set of rules around where you can park and live in it.

So, in the simplest terms:

🏡 ADU = permanent structure
🚐 Tiny home on wheels = built on a trailer and designed to move

Neither is necessarily “better” but it really comes down to what you’re looking for, where you live, and what your local regulations allow.

And this part is important: always check your local zoning and placement requirements before purchasing or building. Just because a tiny home is on wheels doesn’t mean it can automatically be parked anywhere.

Meet our beautiful Cascade Max. 🤍

This one was built-to-order, and we have to say… we LOVE how it turned out.

At 36’ x 10’, this lofted Cascade Max feels bright, spacious, and incredibly intentional. Every detail was chosen to make this home feel like theirs, and that’s one of our favorite things about a build-to-order home. We custom build everything.

Build-to-order means you start with one of our core tiny home models and floor plans, then make it your own with a curated selection of customizations designed around the way you actually want to live.

For this Cascade Max, our clients chose a beautiful all-white kitchen with quartz countertops, a white subway tile backsplash, and open shelving. The living room is wrapped in oversized windows that bring the outdoors in, with French doors welcoming you into the heart of the home.

Outside, we paired crisp white siding and black window trim with tight-knot cedar accent siding in an ebony wash, finished with our signature “Tru Form red” cedar corbels. ❤️

But some of our favorite custom details are tucked into the bedroom.

Our clients wanted a little more room to make space for a king-sized bed, so we added a bedroom bump-out. We also incorporated two full-length, apartment-sized closets and a custom-built storage headboard with extra shelving and dual wall sconces. And yes!! we even added a TV hookup in the bedroom. Because tiny living should still feel like home.
