📢 Why Choosing Local Builders Matters: A Story from Ostrander Painting, Drywall, & Remodeling
We recently got a call about painting a barn. At first, we thought it was a potential customer, but it turned out to be a contractor all the way from Tennessee who had been hired to paint a large metal barn right here in our community.
This gentleman had been staying in a Wichita hotel for four days, waiting for the rain to stop. He was frustrated, rude, and insistent that the job had to be done that very day—despite the weather being cool, damp, and rain forecasted for the evening. He offered only $200 for the job, no matter how many hours it would take.
We explained two key things:
1️⃣ We’re an independent company, not his employee.
2️⃣ The weather would cause the paint to fail on the metal surface and we weren't putting our name on a bad job.
He didn’t care. He was determined to paint that barn rain or shine, putting the project (and the customer’s long-term investment) at risk.
Now imagine this scenario: That barn’s paint job WILL fail prematurely, leaving the property owner to pay even more down the line to fix it. This is what happens when out-of-state contractors cut corners to save a buck, with no regard for quality or the community they’re working in.
Why Choose Local?
When you hire a local builder, you’re choosing someone who:
✅ Lives and works in your community.
✅ Cares about your family and your project.
✅ Puts pride into every job, ensuring it’s done the right way the first time.
At Ostrander Painting, Drywall, & Remodeling, we don’t just do the job—we build relationships, protect your investment, and stand by our work. Choose local. Choose care. Choose quality.
