Terry was born and raised in Evansville and grew up on the west side of town. Frances was also born and raised in Evansville and grew up on the east side of town. They've been married since

1981 and have two children, which both now work at the business. From as far back as doing projects in grade school, to helping his father remodel homes, Terry has always loved woodworking. He has over 28 years of barn building experience. They started Better Built Barns in 1997. Terry wanted to avoid building a typical barn. He has always had the drive to be different and better. He wanted to improve areas on the barns that he noticed over the years that would make a difference in quality, so he created his own features such as adding 2x4 door support with cut-out door handles and the 2x6 door centers. He also created the support blocks under the roof flares. He also uses metal gussets on the rafters instead of scrap wood. All of these plus other extras, created Better Built Barns. We truly care about what we can provide for our customers. Due to the Winter storm, the office will be closed most likely all next week (week of Monday January 26th). We will try to re-open on Monday February 2nd as long as our parking lot is cleared off. Stay safe and God Bless!

The office will be closed the entire week of Monday December 22nd.

The office will be open Monday and Tuesday December 29th and 30th from 10:30 - 4:00 and will be closed the rest of the week.

The office will resume regular Winter hours Monday January 5th 2026.

"I had a dream, Joseph. I don't understand it, not really, but I think it was a birthday celebration for our Son. I think that was what it was all about.

The people had been preparing for it for about six weeks. They had decorated the house and bought new clothes. They'd gone shopping many times and bought elaborate gifts. It was peculiar, though, because the presents weren't for our Son. They wrapped them in beautiful paper and tied them in lovely bows and stacked them under a tree. Yes, a tree, Joseph, right in their house.

They'd decorated the tree also. The branches were full of glowing balls and sparkling ornaments. There was a figure on the top of the tree. It looked like an angel might look. Oh, it was beautiful.

Everyone was laughing and happy. They were all excited about the gifts. They gave the gifts to each other, Joseph, not to our Son. I don't think they even knew Him. They never mentioned His name.

Doesn't it seem odd for people to celebrate someone else's birthday if they don't know Him? I had the strangest feeling that if our Son had gone to his celebration He would have been intruding.

Everything was so beautiful, Joseph, and everyone so gay, but it made me want to cry. How sad for Jesus - not to be wanted at His own birthday party. I'm glad it was only a dream. How terrible, Joseph if it had been real."

Winter hours will be: 10:30-4:00 Monday-Friday and 10:30-3:30 Saturdays.

The office will be closed Thursday November 27th for Thanksgiving.

Tuesday September 30th: Office will be open from 9:30 - 2:00.

Friday October 3rd: Regular business hours

Saturday October 4th: Regular business hours

The office will be closing daily for lunch when time allows since it is only going to be one person in the office for a few weeks.

Needing a full time independent contractor who is an experienced carpenter. Pays $1,600-$3,000 weekly. Must have a full size truck or trailer, experience building and know how to roof. Doors, rafters, roof decking, everything is pre-cut and made for the carpenter. The carpenter will be assembling the barn kits on the homer owner's property.
