At Blackwood Homes, we look for ways we can make a difference in the communities where we live and work. This year, that’s included supporting accessibility upgrades for local residents, planting trees in a local park, and helping build homes for families in Honduras.

One of our favorite ways to give back is our ongoing partnership with Seattle Fire Department. Before some homes are demolished, we donate them for real-world fire recruit training. In April, SFD used a home in Columbia City to run a multi-day search and rescue scenario where a car had “fallen off a bridge” into a structure, giving crews hands-on training they can take into the field.

Seven months later, that same site is now nearing completion and will soon welcome six new households. Visit our website to learn more about our upcoming projects and how we give back.
