Because a typical heating and cooling system does have a limited life span, not a lifetime span ok. So if you’re ever in the market for replacement/upgrade, keep this motto in mind;

Busy, busy, busy! The life of Great Works Heating & Air Company.
I’m still noticing jobs where people fail to check/change the air filter! I highly recommend the pleated type. For those with allergies, you will have to invest in a much better filter. It is recommended to replace your filter about every 3 to 4 months, especially people with pets, children, and rugs.

Good morning HVAC fans!
It’s time to down to what is going on. This is the time of the year as the heat approaches what do you need to do be cool. First thing, how long has it been since you checked/changed your filter(s)? When you buy new filters, consider a good pleated filter. Not that blue, or green filter that’s flat and you can see through it. The pleated type with a MERV rating 4,5 or higher. The highest is 10. Changing the filter regularly can actually give your system longevity. A dirty filter can cause your blower to run faster burning it out, freeze/ice your system which can affect the compressor, and a number of other problems.

Hey everyone, just wanted to reach out to the potential homeowners looking to buy a home that's 5, 10, 15 or more years old. Keep in mind the older the home, the more than likely there will be more challenges. What am I trying to tell you? Lets take the heating/cooling system for example. AGE: How old is the equipment, which is (1)outdoor unit, (2)cooling/evaporator coil, and the (3)furnace/ air handler. This is VERY important, anything over ten years old would concern me. Also certain brands, Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Amana, and Goodman are my personal favorites. I don't want to write a book, but the wisest thing to do is have a licensed HVAC professional with you or on the phone. This may be a deal killer if the home Heating and Air system is in bad shape unless you are willing to accept "AS IS".

Hey fb family, it's time to be proactive and not reactive about your gas furnace. Word of lifesaving advice is that you get your gas furnace inspected for possible carbon monoxide gases. Not only just the furnace, but the stove, oven, water heater, and/or fireplace. There are warning signs and symptoms that you are in danger. One way to get ready is to purchase a carbon monoxide detector or two or three. If you want to take it to another level, schedule an appointment with us before you start using the heat. Allow Great Works to give you and your family the peace of mind and body.
