SWI's Mandrel-Less CX-5 Coil Farm is the true automated solution.

With no mandrel insertion required, coils can be loaded in less than 2 minutes using either a forklift or overhead gantry crane. The CX-5 is compatible with multiple SWI slit lines and most roll-formers and can be configured with single, double, or triple-row gantries, with as many coil storage bays as your operation requires — delivering faster changeovers, improved safety, and maximum efficiency.

This recent installation features 52 storage bays, over 260 tonnes of coil storage capacity. From the first truck arriving on site to final commissioning, the entire system was installed in just 2 days — a testament to the experience, planning, and commitment of the SWI team.

The new building is coming along nicely. Inspections start this week, and we’re aiming to get the certificate of occupancy (COD) next week, with plans to move in during the week of June 7.

A huge thank you to the entire SWI Machinery team for the hard work, innovation and commitment that made Australian Manufacturing Week a success. From designing and building the machinery showcased at the event, to preparing, setting up, running the stand and packing it all away afterwards, this achievement reflects the effort of our team both on the stand and back at the factory.

Check out this new installation in Texas of a fully automated Duplex folder. The solution includes SWI’s Sheet Loader, Part Handler, and Unload Conveyor and is designed to dramatically increase throughput with little to no operator intervention.

Eye In the Sky! You’re watching the factory in Australia test the new Coil Tipper, which will be an optional feature for our Recoilers. The Coil Tipper will eliminate the need for a secondary coil tipping process, so recoiled material can be unloaded and stored more efficiently.
