Company History

Winn Corp was originally founded in 1947 by brothers Perry and Dean Winn as a dump truck, ag-lime spreading and bulldozing business.

In the 1970s, the organization grew into separate businesses, split between the bulldozing, excavating, and construction services and dump truck and ag-lime spreading. Taking over from his father Dean, Bill Winn continued to grow the dump truck and ag-lime spreading business. In 1992, Terry Winn joined his father Bill.

In 1997, the company incorporated into Winn Corp. and moved into the aggregates production business with the opening of a sand and gravel plant in Ollie, Iowa. In 2001, the company opened its first quarry located in Jefferson County, with the name Jefferson County Quarry.

In 2007, Winn Corp. opened Wapello County Sand & Rock to replace the sand and gravel operation in Ollie. Also in 2007, Keokuk County Quarry & Sand was opened by Winn Corp. as a multi-purpose site. The plant mines limestone and operates as a sales yard for gravel and sand hauled from the Wapello County site.
