Illinois HB 3320 is a straight-up shakedown of the firearm industry, but the insane way it's worded makes it so that's not even the worst part. HB-3320 forces gun manufacturers to buy an expensive state license and charges them fees tied to Illinois’ so-called “gun violence costs.” That money doesn’t go to stopping crime, though! It can be used to pay medical bills and other costs for violent criminals who get shot while committing crimes. Law-abiding citizens get higher prices and fewer choices, while criminals get their bills covered. This isn’t about safety -- it’s about bleeding the gun industry dry while continuing to support and enable the violent criminal class.
