We wanted to share this message from one of the largest and top quality companies most HVAC companies buy equipment from to install in people’s homes. Heat, hot water and even air conditioning are basic needs.

Small Mom & Pop companies can’t absorb these increases and stay in business.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to click on the link below and ask for tariffs on Americans HVAC equipment be removed!

Dear Valued Business Partner,

We are committed to transparency and keeping you informed of developments that affect our industry. The recent expansion of Section 232 tariffs on steel, aluminum, and copper, effective April 6, has had a direct impact on the entire HVACR supply chain. As a result, Carrier Corp. will be implementing a price adjustment on residential, ductless, and light commercial equipment and accessories, effective Monday, April 27, 2026.

Price increases will apply to all brands and models as follows:

up to 8% on residential equipment, including splits, furnaces, coils, and SPP
up to 3% on ductless and crossover equipment
up to 6% on residential and ductless accessories
up to 6% on light commercial R-454B rooftop units, splits, coils, and accessories
No increase on R-410A light commercial rooftops or VRF

Please note that these increases are subject to change should any further adjustments be made to the imposed tariffs. We will promptly issue a notice if circumstances change.

Current pricing will be honored on all orders shipped on or before Friday, April 24, 2026.
New pricing will automatically apply to quotes and orders processed on and after Monday, April 27, 2026.

These tariff changes are having a real and significant impact on our industry. Yesterday we sent an email encouraging all of us to make our voices heard. We urge you to consider taking a moment to petition your local lawmakers and the U.S. government to exclude HVACR products from these tariffs. Every message makes a difference!

Despite the challenges of today's economic and political climate, our commitment to you remains unchanged: consistent quality, dependable service, and long-term value. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to continuing to support your success.

Thank you for your continued trust and business.

Sincerely,

Brian O'Mahony

With the blizzard forecast in Fairfield County we would like to share some important safety tips regarding your Gas fired heating equipment or a heat pump.

Snow build-up can cause the meter, gas or heat pump appliance, like a furnace or hot water heater, to malfunction.

If a vent is blocked, carbon monoxide could build up in your home. A blocked vent could also cause a furnace or hot water heater to stop working.

Newer furnaces, water heaters or heat pumps that vent out the side of a home, instead of the top. Customers need to make sure sidewall vents and the roof top vents are clear of snow and ice.

Customers should also be aware of the dangers and risks of carbon monoxide (CO). The risk of illness or death from carbon monoxide increases in the winter. Every home or business should have at least one working CO monitor inside.

Important safety tips:

Don’t pile snow on or near outside vents amd heat pumps when shoveling or using a snow blower.

Use your hands or a brush to clear snow away from the outside vent.

Don’t let dripping water or freezing rain build up on the meter or outside vent. The vent can become plugged when ice and snow melt during the day and refreeze at night.

Check furnace and water heater exhaust pipes. If an exhaust pipe is blocked, the furnace or water heater could malfunction or stop working.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday🏈

Brrr, it's cold outside, and inside too!

Every year when the temps dip into the single digits or below, HVAC companies receive calls from customers complaining their house isn't warming up to the temp set on the thermostat.

Most homes, especially those built a long time ago weren't designed or installed with heat loss or gain calculations.

Some homes have been remodeled and heat vents, baseboards, or radiators were removed for interior design and most homes don't have proper insulation.

Very cold temps=heating systems unable to keep up.

If your heating system is running and warm air is coming from the vents and or baseboard and radiators are warm to the touch, your system is working as hard as it can.

Some customers may need to supplement with electric heaters in rooms that are particularly cold.

Hold tight, the cold snap will pass soon!

Summer is heating up☀️
High temps = service calls to HVAC companies asking “why is my A/C running non stop” on really hot days like today “why isn’t it getting cool enough in my home?”

If your central A/C system was sized and installed correctly then it will not be turning off for during those 90+ degree days.

A/C systems sized and installed in Connecticut use an average outdoor temperature of about 84 degrees. When the outdoor temperature is 95 or higher your system will struggle to reach the thermostat set point. (and most likely will never get there).
This is normal.

If your system was sized for a 95 degree average then it would be over sized for 99% of the season which causes short cycling and poor dehumidification.

The solution is a two stage or variable speed system, but with our short cooling seasons the ROI is very poor.

So, let your AC run, close the windows tight and pull you shades down to reduce the solar heat gain as best as possible. Don’t turn off your A/C on these really hot days and think your home will cool off quickly!
