Back at the ballpark for one of our favorite APD traditions. ⚾

Yesterday, our team headed to a Rochester Red Wings game for our annual APD Engineering & Architecture, PLLC outing. We always enjoy the chance to spend some time together outside the office. Add in some baseball, and it’s a pretty great day.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a fun one. Already looking forward to next year!

There’s more to Amanda Speranza-Kelly’s story than architecture. It’s a story about family, curiosity, and caring about the work you put your name behind.

If you know Amanda, you know she wants to understand more than the project. She wants to understand the people behind it and the brand they’ve built.

Her 14+ years at APD Engineering & Architecture, PLLC have shaped how she works with clients, supports her team, and leads as a Principal. She values honesty and curiosity and isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves to jump in when her team needs her.

That hands-on spirit started early. Growing up, Amanda spent time building alongside her dad, sparking a curiosity that eventually found its way into architecture.

But that’s only part of her story.

Just steps from Times Square, APD Engineering & Architecture, PLLC helped bring ALDI USA’s first Midtown Manhattan store to life at 311 W. 42nd Street. 🗽

Located beneath The Ellery, the 25,000 SF store marks ALDI’s first below-ground location. Led by Project Manager Battista , AIA, NCARB, APD provided civil engineering, architecture, MEP engineering, structural engineering, and permitting, working alongside DGC Capital Contracting Corp throughout the construction process.

This milestone builds on a proud partnership that began in 1996. Together, we’ve brought stores to communities across the country, supporting the brand’s continued growth and its goal of reaching more than 3,200 U.S. stores by the end of 2028.

Congratulations to ALDI, DGC, our APD team, and everyone who helped bring this unique location to life! 👏

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Presley to the APD team!

Presley recently joined APD as an IT Support Specialist. He earned his bachelor's degree in New Media Interactive Development from Rochester Institute of Technology and brings experience in web development, technical support, and programming education.

Outside of work, Presley enjoys coding personal projects, game development, playing volleyball, and producing music.
