We’re excited to celebrate Ken Rea, PE on his election as President of the Board of Directors for the Hickok Center for Brain Injury! 🎉

Serving the Rochester area since 1989, the Hickok Center supports individuals with brain injuries and other neurological challenges, providing programs and opportunities that help participants work toward their individual goals and lead more independent, connected lives.

Ken was invited to join the Board by the outgoing president, who will remain on the Board as Ken steps into his new role. Having previously served as President of the New York State Society of Professional Engineers (NYSSPE), Monroe Chapter, Ken looks forward to bringing that experience to a great group of fellow board members and to being part of the meaningful work the Hickok Center is doing in our community.

Congratulations, Ken! We’re proud to see you take on this new opportunity and wish you all the best as you begin your term as President. 👏

A familiar local favorite has a new home in Victor, NY. 🍦

Yolickity - Victor recently opened its third Rochester-area location at Victor Crossing, and APD Engineering & Architecture, PLLC is grateful to have played a part in bringing this Yolickity location to the community!

Our Architectural and MEP teams provided the design for the 1,662-SF tenant fit-out, adapting Yolickity's established concept to fit the former GameStop space. We worked through the details of the new space, from the floor plan and equipment layout to utilities, accessibility, food-service requirements, and permitting. The location also features a new outdoor patio with seating, extending the experience beyond the storefront.

We're always proud to work with local businesses right here in the Rochester area and help bring new spaces and experiences to our communities.

A big thank you to Suplex Construction and everyone who helped bring this location to life. Congratulations to the Yolickity team on the opening! 🎉

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Daniel Smith, PE, SE on successfully completing the NCEES PE Structural exam, a major professional achievement and a first for APD Engineering & Architecture, PLLC! 🎉

The PE Structural exam tests the knowledge and judgment required to design buildings and other structures to withstand complex vertical and lateral forces, including gravity, wind, and seismic loads.

As the first member of APD’s team to successfully complete the exam, Dan has set an exciting milestone for our firm. Reaching this point took countless hours of preparation, focus, and dedication, all while Dan continued to bring the same care and commitment to his work every day.

Dan, we are so proud of you and everything it took to get here. We couldn’t be happier to celebrate this moment with you!
