Good afternoon friends.
We are kindly asking that for your safety, our liabilty & so there is no damage to our company vehicles or employee vehicles that sometimes get left at our shop, that people refrain from using our driveway as a dirt bike pull through in the evenings.
This has happened the last couple of evening & it is private property.

When we quote a furnace or AC system it’s almost always for basic level equipment. We like to keep it simple and the following post from another HVAC tech is why.
The cost to repair high end multi speed or variable speed equipment which actually gains only a few percentage points of efficiency makes it simply not worth it.

If you’re anticipating a new furnace or AC keep the post in the picture in mind.

Are you sick of smoke yet?

Here's what to expect near term and a suggestion.

We will get a little clearing of the air as a system moving through changes wind direction. It'll be a little better Saturday but as the system moves through, winds will switch back to North and west bringing it back again into Sunday and early next week.

Now for the suggestion...
To help out with indoor air quality, use a standard box type fan and tape a 20"x20" furnace air filter to the back of it. If you can find a filter with a MERV rating of 11-15 range, those would work best to catch at least some of the contamination in your house.

If you have a furnace, with AC or without, check to see if it has a "fan on" setting on the thermostat. If it does, and the wiring is correct, turn that setting on to run the furnace fan constantly.
That will cycle the air in your house through the filter and help indoor air quality.

Just a health tip for the next few days if you have air conditioning running.

We are going to experience some really nasty air quality due to wild fires north and west of us.
Changing the air filter on you furnace can help reduce the amount of particulate inside your home.
Make sure yours is recently changed and use a pleated type filter with a rating of MERV 8 at minimum.
