Some projects are more than construction — they're community responsibility.
LaSalle is proud to share the completion of the Nichols Drive Slope Stabilization Project for the University of Michigan, a project that required precision, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
By the numbers:
📏 440 linear feet of tangent-pile retaining wall and an additional 200+ feet of hillside concrete retaining knee wall
🚧 45,000 sq ft of pavement resurfacing
🛠️ 1,500+ linear feet of sidewalk & curb repairs
What set this project apart was the extraordinary level of coordination involved. Our team navigated requirements from four agencies/corporations — Amtrak, MDOT, the University of Michigan Medical Center, and the National Railroad Safety Service — all while working adjacent to an active railroad corridor and maintaining continuous emergency access to the Michigan Medicine Helipad.
Every single member of our project team completed Amtrak's railroad safety certification before setting foot on site. Because at LaSalle, safety isn't a checkbox — it's our culture.
We're incredibly proud of our team for delivering long-term infrastructure improvements in a complex project environment. This is the kind of work that reminds us why we love what we do.
