Edge quality matters more than you think.

When evaluating stamped components, pay close attention to edge condition and part flatness. Rough edges, excessive burrs, or distortion can impact fit, increase wear, and create issues in assembly.

Fineblanking produces clean, smooth edges and tight tolerances directly from the press, helping improve consistency and reduce the need for secondary operations.

If your application depends on precise fit and long-term performance, the manufacturing method should be part of the conversation early.

Not all springs are created equal.

Performance depends on how a spring is designed, manufactured, and applied within a system. Load requirements, cycle life, material selection, and operating conditions all play a role in long-term reliability.

CSS manufactures custom springs to exact specifications, supporting a wide range of applications with the consistency and precision required for demanding environments.

Manufacturing today is inherently global.

Components are sourced, produced, and delivered across borders, often within tight timelines and strict requirements. That level of coordination depends on consistent processes and partners who can support operations at scale.

CSS works with customers in more than 60 countries, providing precision springs, wire forms, and stampings backed by reliable production and a global footprint.

May is World Trade Month, recognizing the international partnerships that keep manufacturing moving.

Investing in the next generation of machinists is a top priority at CSS.

Yesterday, we hosted Howell Cheney Technical High School sophomores from the Precision Machining Technology program to provide an inside look at our shop floor. Our goal was simple: to show these students exactly how they can transition from the classroom to a rewarding career as a Pre-Apprentice, and eventually a full-time apprentice.

We’re always looking for driven students ready to hone their craft. Great to have the Cheney Technical High School team here with us yesterday!
