Job Title: Field Project Superintendent

Job Description Summary:
The Field Project Superintendent is responsible for the daily administrative and technical management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of assigned field projects. This role involves effective communication, coordination of project activities, supervision of personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions:
Communicate regularly with the Customer, VP Operations, Estimator/Project Manager, Foremen, and drafting on project status, issues, or deviations from schedule or contract.
Possess a working knowledge of all project plans and specifications.
Ensure timely ordering of materials and supplies for the project.
Coordinate work activities with other project tasks and subcontractors.
Supervise foremen, employees, provide necessary discipline, and evaluate performance.
Offer technical assistance, such as interpreting drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment.
Review Daily Worksheets, time cards, and daily inspection logs for equipment.
Coordinate with office support staff on accounting, travel needs, employee issues, etc.
Represent the company at project coordination meetings.
Coordinate changes to manpower, customer requests, and employee/site issues with VP Operations, Estimator/Project Manager, and Human Resources (if applicable).
Ensure compliance with company and customer procedures, safety requirements, work rules, and housekeeping on all job sites.
Schedule tool and equipment needs with Equipment Manager and Toolroom Supervisor.
Report all maintenance needs for work vehicles and equipment to the Equipment Manager.
Train foremen in construction methods, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
Assist management in developing and implementing procedures, working documents/forms, and standards to improve projects.

Work Environment:
This role may involve both indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions. It may include exposure to heights, hazards of operating equipment, power tools, and the presence of chemicals, dust, and fumes. Personal Protection Equipment is required.

Physical Demands:
The role requires mobility, standing, walking, bending, climbing, and reaching above the head. Mental demands include mathematical ability, reading blueprints, interpreting job specifications, and making quality control decisions. The role may involve lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.

Travel: Travel out-of-town and out-of-state is required.

Required Education and Experience:
High School Graduate (GED)
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Foreman
Other Criteria:

Valid driver's license, passing drug screen and background checks required.
Ability to handle difficult situations tactfully.
Demonstrated ability to recognize and deal with priorities.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
Consistent communication with Project Management and customers.

Performance:

The Superintendent's performance will be evaluated based on:
Ability to reduce downtime, accidents/injuries, rework/warranty work
Meeting production & profit goals and standards
Timeliness & accuracy of reports to Operations, Finance & Administration
Accurate explanation of variances from estimate, percentage of overall project work completed.
Motivation of foremen, employees, and maintaining client satisfaction.
Compliance with all JAF policies, procedures, and safety manual.
Willingness to provide support to all peers.J
