Followup: First, we want to thank customers for stepping up and paying promptly - we appreciate this! This will need to be the new norm especially with higher fuel prices. As mentioned before, please check your tanks and give advance notice for delivery.

Since the biggest part of winter is over, we are going to adjust our delivery schedule to Monday, Wednesday and Friday deliveries this week. This is because we are not as busy, customers will not be ordering as much product and we need to consider our costs for operating, including diesel costs to run trucks. It makes sense to consolidate on our side. Our delivery schedule will remain the same.

For automatic delivery customers, we would like to give you the option of not filling your tank at these higher prices. We mention this because we don’t want to deliver a fill-up and leave you a large bill. And that really goes for any customer. If you request a fill-up, please be prepared to prepay or pay at time of delivery. We will post our prices on our website and FaceBook, or you can email/message us and we’ll send you that day’s price.

Our cost for fuel has been increasing daily, sometimes more than once a day. We went through this a few years ago when there were high prices, so we’ll all get through this too. There’s a lot that hinges on the price of fuel: higher prices for fuel and gas, higher prices for groceries (IE: because they have to pay more to transport goods), and higher costs for pretty much everything.

Thanks again, and remember, tough times are temporary and brighter days are ahead☀️ Take care

Important Update: as you most likely know, the cost of heating oil is increasing due to the conflict overseas. Our vendor has been increasing our cost daily as well. This means if we post a price online, we cannot guarantee that price and have to set our price accordingly as the increases happen.

It’s been a VERY cold winter and we have one driver to deliver fuel. We have a delivery schedule we follow and need to stick to this schedule. We encourage you to check your tank and give at least 2 days or more notice. If you contact us and we have already delivered to your area that day, we cannot deliver again until the following week, so please monitor your tank and request fuel in advance. Since we are in the midst of the heating season, we are not accepting new customers.

Lastly, we have a LOT of outstanding, overdue payments. Starting today, we will be requesting all deliveries be paid at time of delivery, unless you have a prior arrangement. This means you can leave a check/cash for the driver, or you can prepay online at www.berryoilcompany.com. We cannot absorb more costs and wait for payments with the price increases. We provide customers with return envelopes; additionally, we pay for an online credit card option (this is free to customers, not free for us) so there is no reason not to pay your bill timely. Our policy has been 10 days to get your bill paid, and since this is not happening, we have to go this route. That means “no payment at time of delivery, no fuel.” Sorry.

This season has been trying for us. With the cold snap, we’ve had more calls and deliveries to make. We’ve had customers submit cards with no funds; this is a form of fraud, so those customers will be required to prepay. We receive comments like, “I pay for wood, my wife pays for oil” or “I have to check with my husband to see if we have money.” Those are NOT options!! If you contact us for fuel, you are telling us “you have money to purchase what you are requesting.” We are accommodating to our customers: we do not have a minimum fuel delivery; we deliver [$100] of oil if that’s all you can afford; we strive to get you oil as soon as possible. We participate with the HEAP program, which is extra work for us; we have to monitor deliveries and complete extra paperwork. Our business plan is pretty simple: You order fuel --> we deliver fuel --> you pay for fuel --> repeat as needed. We do what we can to work with our customers; when you need fuel we do our best to make sure you won't go cold.

So please, let’s all get back on track. Check your tank regularly and order when you can to keep yourself warm. And let’s not panic, things will get better; life always goes in cycles. Just like SPRING… Hey, it’s coming - only 16 more days!! Thank you - we appreciate you :)
