Went on a service call last night to an elderly persons home with no heat. A major company had just done a complete service on the system, inside and out on a special promo a month ago. What I found was low voltage control wiring disconnected to the heat. I initially figured something was wrong and they had just not gotten back to repair issue, but what was found was no issue. This was done to generate another call for the customer to pay additional fees. If this is what the major companies are teaching there service people to do, they should loose their license to have a business. I hate crooked business tactics. Bottom line, the 92 year old got her heat back at NO COST from me, but I'd really like to whip the daylights out of the other company's technician. Taking advantage of people is wrong.
