DID YOU KNOW?
While lithium ion batteries aren't brand new to the solar market, we thought it might be helpful to provide some common pros and cons! Depending on the use case, lithium ion batteries can be VERY practical, but not always. Check out our list of pros and cons below! You can always learn more about batteries, inverters, panels, and more on our website in the Learning Center and our team of Solar Engineers is always ready to help you make the best decision for your situation! As always, check out our new page NAZ Solar Electric for more content!

Lithium Ion benefits:
- Generally, they are much smaller and lightweight than lead acid batteries.
- They are maintenance free (NO MORE FLOODING!).
- They are almost always more energy efficient.
- They charge very quickly.
- In most settings, you can continue to expand your battery bank with almost limitless potential, meaning you can start small, and expand to meet your needs as they change over time!
Lithium Ion drawbacks:
- $$ They can be expensive, especially up front. Definitely a higher initial investment.
- If you live in a colder climate (and don't have a thermally regulated structure for the batteries), they may need to be kept warm with a heater (especially if they need to charge below freezing).
- Some older equipment may not be compatible with Lithium Ion batteries.
