2000 SERIES
The AutoDrill 2000 Series is a pneumatically controlled, self-powered unit. Two feed speeds are standard.

Pneumatic stroke control allows the 2000 Series to perform many basic drilling operations. The units can be installed in any orientation. This allows operations that are difficult to do manually to be performed without problem in production. Stroke control is normally adjusted by varying line pressure and flow rate through pneumatic controls. The control is normally a feed rate and is applicable f

or blind hole drilling and other non-critical through hole applications. For situations where 2 feed rates are required or critical drilling operations are required, we offer our AutoDrill 2100 or 2200 Series. Several units can be controlled with a single pneumatic valve simultaneously for high volume production drilling. We have the controls for this application, and in many cases they can be customized to your project.

2100 SERIES
The 2100 Series AutoDrill is based on the 2000 Series, with the addition of a HydroSpeed hydraulic cylinder, to control feed. This addition overcomes the limitation of a single pneumatic feed control. The HydroSpeed (sometimes called HydroBrake), controls the critical process of pe*******on, feed and exit. You can refer to our video section for examples of the use of the HydroSpeed, or see the simple animation below, which shows a basic 2100 Series auto-feed, in motion. The HydroSpeed can be placed in different positions. This flexibility is important when drilling holes close together, or on projects where flexibility is very important. It also simplifies maintenance, as it can be repositioned or replaced without moving the body of the AutoDrill. The diagram below shows the optional positions (The location on the right is always standard). AUTODRILL 2200 SERIES
The AutoDrill 2200 Series is based on the 2000 Series with the addition of a pull-type hydraulic cylinder to control the feed rate of the tool. This addition overcomes the limitation of pneumatic feed control. 2 feed rates are standard. The HydroSpeed controls the critical process of pe*******on and exit. Because the unit has a pull-type feed control, we can control the feed in both directions when necessary. The pull-type allows AutoDrill to add multi-hole heads to the units, as this HydroSpeed does not require the customer to provide a stop. This is provided as part of the unit. This allows you to drill many holes with only one machine. The HydroSpeed can be provided on either the left or right side of the unit for special cases, although the right side is the standard application. This flexibility is important when drilling very close holes, or on special projects. It also simplifies maintenance, as it can be adjusted without disturbing the AutoDrill unit or special fixtures. AutoDrill 5200 Series
The 5200 self-fed series is a heavy duty unit based on the AutoDrill 5000 Series with the addition of a pull style "HydroSpeed" cylinder. 2 speed feed is standard. The HydroSpeed will control the critical pe*******on and exit process. Since the unit has a pull style feed rate control, we are able to control this speed in both forward and reverse when needed. The pull style unit allows AutoDrill to add multiple spindle heads to the unit, as the HydroSpeed does not require a customer supplied stroke limit. These heads allow you to drill many holes with one machine. The HydroSpeed is essentially part of the unit. As an added benefit, the AutoDrill 5200 Series can be equipped with a fully adjustable "SkipFeed" or "StopFeed." AutoDrill 5100 Series (Heavy Duty)
The AutoDrill 5100 Series is based on the 5000 Series with the addition of a "HydroSpeed" control. By incorporating the HydroSpeed drive, control is no longer done with pneumatic devices alone. A 2-speed feed is standard. The HydroSpeed (sometimes called Hydra-Brake) controls the critical pe*******on and exit process. See our video section for examples of HydroSpeed use. The 5000 Series is offered for heavy duty operations or for large holes, or when a rugged and reliable unit is needed. The features of the 5100 Series make it a very simple unit to operate and maintain. Adjustment methods are easy to understand, including the feed rate adjustment. It is very simple to use yet very capable. Because of its efficiency, its costs are kept low. Whether it helps you produce more in the same amount of time (cost savings), or simply helps you handle higher volume orders (high production), the 5100 Series AutoDrill is an excellent choice. Features of the 5200 Series AutoDrill include:

SERIE 2000
One Source for Drilling Components: Why It Matters for Automated Production

Your automation cell is down.

Not because a unit failed — but because the PLC signal from Vendor A isn’t communicating with the sensor from Vendor B. The pneumatics supplier says their valves are fine. The motor manufacturer insists their specs are correct. Meanwhile, production sits idle.

This is what happens when drilling components come from three or four different sources. Each supplier understands their hardware. None of them understand your system.

The issue isn’t finding quality parts. Good hardware is everywhere. The real challenge is coordination, compatibility, and knowing who owns the problem when something doesn’t perform as expected.

There’s a simpler approach. Not instant perfection — just fewer headaches getting there.

The Hidden Cost of Multiple Drilling Suppliers

On paper, building an automated drilling station looks straightforward:

Drilling unit

Multi-spindle head

Pneumatic controls

Motor

Sensors

Sourcing each from the lowest bidder feels efficient — until integration begins.

Compatibility questions go unanswered.
Will that motor mount properly? Will the feed rate match the material? Will the PLC timing sync correctly? Every vendor understands their component. No one owns the full system.

Finger-pointing replaces solutions.
Sensors are “working.” Timing is “within spec.” Valves are “operating normally.” You’re stuck in the middle troubleshooting a system no one fully understands.

Support is fragmented.
Suppliers across multiple time zones. Different tech teams. Different priorities. Production needs to restart Monday — and nobody’s aligned.

Specs almost match.
Voltage, mounting patterns, flow rates. Individually correct. Collectively problematic. Shims, adapters, compromises.

The true cost isn’t the price of any one component.
It’s the integration effort after everything arrives.

What Single-Source Drilling Components Actually Look Like

AutoDrill manufactures drilling units, tapping units, multi-spindle heads, and feed control accessories designed to work together — supported by one engineering team.

Here’s what that means in practice:

Three Drilling Unit Series

1000 Series – Compact footprint for lighter materials such as aluminum, plastic, and wood. Ideal where space is limited.

2000 Series – The production workhorse for general manufacturing applications.

5000 Series – Built for structural steel, stainless, cast iron, and demanding materials — delivering up to 1,500 pounds of thrust.

Tapping on the Same Platform

AutoTap units convert drilling operations to threading without redesigning your station.
Same mounting. Same control philosophy. Same support team.

Integrated Feed Control Options

HydroSpeed – Controlled breakthrough and extended tool life

SkipFeed – Skips air gaps in multi-wall parts

PeckFeed – Handles deep-hole chip evacuation

These aren’t third-party add-ons. They’re engineered to integrate with the units they mount to.

Setup moves faster because the engineering team already understands how the components interact.

Building an Automated Cell: Components That Work Together

Automation isn’t a single product — it’s a coordinated system.

AutoDrill supplies drilling and tapping hardware for automated production cells, including:

VFD motor options for variable speed control (2000 & 5000 Series)

Servo motor configurations for PLC-direct automation

Multi-unit configurations with independent pneumatic feed control

Proximity sensors for stroke timing integration

No proprietary systems.

No black-box electronics.

Just hardware designed to integrate cleanly with standard automation controls.

System integrators building turn-key cells choose components that work together out of the box.
In-house teams benefit from the same simplicity.

Support That Doesn’t Pass the Buck

When something doesn’t work, you don’t need three phone calls.

Single-source components mean:

One support team

One engineering department

One clear answer

Custom engineering is available — even for one-off applications. Provide your part print and production requirements. The engineering team evaluates feasibility, designs the configuration, and supports testing and setup.

Experience matters. Hundreds of drilling applications across industries inform recommendations — not just spec sheets.

And when you’re troubleshooting late on a Thursday?
You call one number.

When Single-Source Makes Sense (And When It Might Not)

Single-source sourcing isn’t always necessary.

If you’re buying a drill chuck for a manual setup, price may be your primary concern.

If your automated cell already runs flawlessly, switching suppliers may create more disruption than value.

But if you’re:

Building a new automated station

Expanding production capacity

Spending more time coordinating vendors than producing parts

Then consolidating drilling components under one supplier deserves consideration.

What This Looks Like in Practice

Cabinet Manufacturer
A multi-spindle head on a 2000 Series unit drills consistent shelf pin patterns. HydroSpeed ensures clean breakthrough. One order. One delivery. One support team.

Automotive Supplier
A fixed-pattern head matches a bracket bolt circle. Setup is streamlined. New part numbers mean fixture adjustments — not sourcing new hardware.

Steel Fabricator
Manual drilling that once took eight hours now takes 45 minutes using 5000 Series units with custom fixturing.

These aren’t shop overhauls.
They’re practical upgrades built on compatible components.

Getting Started Without Overcommitting

You don’t need to replace everything at once.

Start with one station.
One application where vendor coordination is costing time.

See what changes when integration questions get answered — instead of redirected.

AutoDrill has manufactured drilling and tapping equipment for over 26 years. The product line exists because manufacturers kept asking for components that work together.

Not revolutionary.
Just practical.
