Job Title: Grounds and Building Maintenance Person
Job Location: Flint, MI
Job Summary: Our organization is seeking a skilled Grounds and Building Maintenance Person to oversee the maintenance and enhancement of our property's outdoor spaces, vehicles, and buildings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing weekly lawn maintenance and landscaping tasks with a heavy focus on attention to detail and delivering high-quality work. In addition, the candidate must have experience in general painting, as this will be a regular task. This is a full-time, year-round position that requires working independently and as part of a team to maintain and improve the aesthetics and functionality of our property.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform weekly lawn maintenance, including mowing, edging, weeding, and watering.
• Design, plan and execute landscaping projects, including planting flowers, shrubs, and trees, and maintaining garden beds.
• Operate and maintain a variety of landscaping equipment, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
• Perform routine vehicle cleanings.
• Paint both interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, as needed.
• Perform light routine building maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and repairing minor damages.
• Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on each task.
• Coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Respond to any property-related emergencies promptly and effectively.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in lawn maintenance, landscaping, and general painting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of different plants, trees, and shrubs, as well as proper planting and care techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to operate and maintain a variety of landscaping equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
