Here’s a drain system we completed right before Christmas. The homeowner had a previous drain system in place that was not working. There were about 7 catch basins in place but the water was just not draining out. The way the backyard is designed it NEEDED proper drainage or it would turn into a swimming pool.

We originally tried to do repairs to the existing system, but quickly realized it was not gonna cut it.

We had to break the bad news to the homeowner that the entire drain system had to be dug out and completely redone.

We changed the original plan completely. We installed a Sump Pump catch basin on the inside of the sidewalk with 3” PVC exit lines. All 3 downspouts tie directly to the Sump Pump. Plus we regraded the yard so we would catch everything and there would be no standing water left.

On the outside of the sidewalk, we installed a French Drain system with additional catch basins. All of the water is exiting to the front yard ditch and working perfectly.

This is one of the more difficult systems we have done so far and it was exciting to water test it and see it working perfectly!
