Home insurance. This is something nobody wants to pay, feel they don’t need . So when it’s purchased we tend to go with lower the average/ bare minimum.
As a contractor I urge you not to go with the lowest pice available and dig into what your coverage. Insurance will not pay out more than the bare minimum. They are in the business to keep money.
When repairs are more then what is covered. The rest comes out of the homeowners pocket. Or you have to hire subpar companies. That are keen on how to cut corners even when it’s not done to code or structurally sound.
A good insurance policy will cover the repairs in these times of skyrocketing cost.
