The History of PHT A/V & Security

PHT Audio/Video & Security (formerly known as Palmetto Home Theater) was established in Florence, SC during 2007. Quincey Gerrald, the Owner/Operator of PHT, grew up in Marion, SC and was always intrigued by electronics. His interest in technology lead him to become Assistant Store Manager at Circuit City before being recruited to start up Best Buy in 2001. Working in a big-box store was a great experience but the entrepreneurial spirit was always calling Quincey.

In 2007, Quincey started Palmetto Home Theater. He knew the success of his business depended on providing premium service to every single client. He started out running cables for speakers, installing audio receivers, mounting TV’s and programming smart remote controls all over South Carolina to gain the experience and reputation needed to be a successful business owner. The premium service model was recognized and appreciated by home owners so the business naturally grew by word of mouth. One year later, PHT expanded to include commercial business products and services.

PHT began offering structured cabling such as pre-wiring for speakers and networking, termination and testing of Cat5e and fiber. Soon, PHT partnered with leading smart technology vendors to automate control of lights, window treatments, HVAC, monitors, surveillance, and entertainment systems. These services lead PHT to become a premier consultant and installer of corporate and home automation.
